  • The paper proposed to use ideological of virtual multiple input and multiple output to solve energy hole problem of underground wireless sensor network, and proposed a multi-hop uneven hierarchical clustering protocol MUHC based on energy balance. It described MUHC transmission model, and analyzed energy consumption of the system of virtual multiple input and multiple output based on the MUHC. Matlab simulation results show that the MUHC protocol can balance energy of the entire network, extend lifetime of the network, and ease the energy hole problem compared with the classic LEACH protocol and EEUC protocol.
