  • For problems of complex wiring and high transmission error rate of traditional master-slave gas monitoring and control system, the paper proposed to build fully distributed gas monitoring and control system using LonWorks technology, and introduced structure and designs of hardware and software of fully distributed gas monitoring and control system based on LonWorks bus. The system is consisted of three layers of monitoring sub-stations, network controllers and monitoring workstations. Network controllers are used for remote communication between monitoring sub-stations and workstations, and monitoring sub-stations are used for on-site gas monitoring. The test result shows that the system has good performance, whose control and execution time is no more than 1 s and transmission error rate is less than 10-6 under certain conditions.
