  • The paper introduced operation situation of 35 kV power lines of Yangmei Coal Group, analyzed causes why lightning accident happened frequently in term of influence of topography, existing lightning protection measures and line insulation configuration, and proposed lightning protection measures such as removing lightning eliminators, using double-circuit transmission line unbalanced insulation configuration and installing line arrester. The actual running results showed that the reformed transmission line has better effect of lightning protection.
