  • The paper expounded formation causes and effect factors of rock burst in coal mine, and introduced application of electromagnetic radiometer in monitoring and forecasting of rock burst in Xinzhouyao Coal Mine. It also introduced composition, working principle and characteristics of the electromagnetic radiometer in details. The test of electromagnetic radiation in Xinzhouyao Coal Mine proved the electromagnetic radiometer not only can be used to forecast rock burst, but also to check effect of preventing measures of rock burst, which has characteristics such as non-contact, non-disturbance, simple operation practicality, safety and accuracy, and is a reasonable selection of forecasting rock burst.
