The paper introduced a new design scheme of passive environmental safety monitoring system of underground coal mine based on ZigBee wireless networks and sensor detecting technique. The system places mobile detecting devices with sensors on miner's hat, achieves passive environmental monitoring and wireless information transmission through wireless sensor networks, greatly increases monitoring flexibility, and solves problem of dead space of monitoring.
